Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist In Charge to lead our pharmacy operations with professionalism and expertise. Responsibilities
- Lead the pharmacy team in providing comprehensive medication services, including patient assessment, medication dispensing, and clinical consultations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws, including HIPAA regulations and USP 797 standards for sterile compounding.
- Oversee inventory management, medication procurement, and storage to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Supervise pharmacy operations using Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Manage pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, including drug regulation policies and documentation of clinical confidentiality policies.
- Provide clinical support for acute care settings, pain management programs, pediatrics, and long-term care (LTC) pharmacy services.
- Facilitate staff training on aseptic techniques, IV infusion procedures, immunizations, and basic life support (BLS).
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop medication management plans that enhance patient care outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare compliance standards related to pharmacy operations, including inventory control and medication administration protocols.
Skills
- Extensive pharmacy practice experience with a focus on clinical pharmacy, hospital or LTC settings, including managing pharmacy teams effectively.
- Critical care experience coupled with strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems such as PIS, EMR systems, and EHR platforms for efficient medication management.
- Demonstrated ability in compounding medications following USP 797 guidelines and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations.
- Strong understanding of drug regulation laws at both state and federal levels; familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance is essential.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients on medication use, immunizations, and health management strategies.
- Proven leadership skills in managing pharmacy operations within regulated environments while maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices to ensure optimal stock levels while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ability to practice medical management in diverse settings including community pharmacies or hospital environments with acute care focus.
