About the Role:
The Data Center Electrical Engineer Owner's RepresentativeProject Manager will lead all aspects of the Electrical Scope of Data Centerconstruction projects! Thisservice is not intended to take the place of the responsibilities of theEngineer of Record for the projects and there are no requirements for providingPE stamped or sealed documents while performing the services outlined below.Though the experience and the background of Professional Engineers to performthese services are preferred. The engineering resources will follow the Owner’sspecifications, standards for quality, and commissioning methodology. Join our team onsite in Austin/San Antonio, TX! What You’ll Do:
Collaboratewith the core team to understand and develop the data center electricaldesigns, from starting basis of design (BOD) to issue for constructions (IFC),for new data center project build-outs and major infrastructure upgrades.
Navigateconstruction and Cx issues from HV substation to MV equipment to LV branchcircuits.
Work incollaboration with QCx, GC, EC, PM, DCOPs, & Central Engineering Teams toremediate issues, deliver quality installation, and maintain constructionschedule.
Manage allpower system issues during concept design, detailed design, procurement,bidding, manufacturing, delivery, and installation on site.
Identifyand resolve issues raised by the cross-functional teams and various externalstakeholders.
Generatescope of work for the equipment portions of major infrastructure upgrades basedon project needs. Work with internal teams to update and document theconfiguration as it evolves.
Interfaceclosely with the Global Commodities team, the manufacturers, and various globaland local Engineering teams in order to deliver the electrical solutions neededfor each project.
Update andmaintain the internal design specifications, drawings and standards inaccordance with the latest configurations and including all 'lessons learned'in relation to all equipment.
Work withEOR for medium voltage duct bank designs.
Developtraining and documentation for new and existing construction quality tools andprocesses.
Work withthe Central Region for roll-out of new medium voltage standards andspecifications.
Inspectmedium voltage terminations and work with the site team on all medium voltageneeds.
Reviewpull calculations, walk through cables pulling process and oversee mediumvoltage cable pulls.
Manageproject budgets, scheduling, planning, and contractor resource assignment.
Trackcontractor performance including billing against budget and contract, manageproposals, SOW’s, bids, scope definition, engineering design cycles, and designreview and approvals.
What You’ll Need:
Preferred10 years relevant experience electrical experience.
Knowledgeof data center and mission critical design concepts, NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHAsafety requirements.
Extensiveexperience with medium voltage power distribution distribution (AIS & GISswitchgear, controls schematics, MV cable installation, relays, etc.).
Formerexperience as Field Service Representative (FSR) or as a NETA testing agent.
Ability toread and interpret electrical, mechanical, and controls schematics &diagrams.
Ability towork with the Data Center Engineering teams and Quality teams to develop testscripts and protocols, ensuring validation design intent.
Experiencein bidding, designing, operating and commissioning of electrical distributionsystems, from high voltage (HV) transformers to branch circuits.
Experiencewith power systems and electrical testing and standards.
Demonstratedskills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization,scheduling and achieving objectives on schedule and within budget.
Basicunderstanding of short circuit coordination & arc-flash (SCCAF) Reports (AFlabeling, coordination of protective devices, etc.)
Greatattitude with internal customers and external parties, and able to address anyissues.
HV/MV/LVsystems experience with equipment such as switchgear, cables, terminations,transformers, etc.
