Job Overview
1 More Chance, LLC is seeking Homemaker/Parent Aides (HMPA) to support families involved with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). Providers work directly with parents and caregivers in their homes and community settings to strengthen parenting skills, improve household routines, and promote safe and stable home environments.
Services focus on teaching and modeling practical life skills such as organization, budgeting, meal planning, supervision of children, and establishing healthy family routines. Providers work alongside families to build skills that support child safety and family stability.
Services are typically provided in the home or community and may occur during evenings or weekends based on family availability.
This position is a 1099 independent contractor role requiring professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with DCS Family Case Managers.
Duties
Homemaker/Parent Aides with 1 More Chance, LLC will:
- Teach and model effective parenting skills and child supervision
- Assist families with developing daily routines and household structure
- Support families with meal planning, budgeting, organization, and home management skills
- Help parents create and maintain safe and healthy living environments for children
- Teach problem-solving and conflict resolution strategies within the family
- Provide guidance on child development and age-appropriate expectations
- Connect families with community resources and supports
- Maintain professional relationships and appropriate boundaries with families
- Complete service documentation including case notes within 24 hours and monthly progress reports
- Collaborate with DCS Family Case Managers and other service providers as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
AND
- At least two (2) years of experience working with children or families in settings such as social services, education, childcare, behavioral health, or community programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with families involved in child welfare or community-based services
- Experience teaching parenting skills or life skills
- Knowledge of child development and family dynamics
- Ability to build supportive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with families experiencing stress or crisis
Additional Requirements
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
- Ability to travel within assigned counties to provide services
- Ability to work evenings or weekends based on family availability
- Ability to work independently as a 1099 independent contractor
- Ability to complete required documentation and maintain confidentiality
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
