Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling to ensure smooth workflow.
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems to maintain accuracy and accountability.
- Coordinate logistics activities with carriers and distribution centers to optimize delivery schedules and reduce transit times.
- Oversee the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners, ensuring proper use and safety compliance.
- Implement process improvements using lean management principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline warehouse procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards across all warehouse activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles within distribution centers or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, logistics, inventory control, and materials handling equipment operation.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, Microsoft Office suite, and RF scanners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through excellent managerial communication and team leadership skills.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives such as lean management or other efficiency strategies.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate material handling equipment including forklifts.
- Valid certifications for forklift operation preferred; familiarity with OSHA safety standards required.
