Job Description:
You will dispatch loads from Columbus, Ohio typically on the weekend and usually Sunday
mornings
Loads will be multiple stops Less than Truckload (LTL) loads with typically 6 to 8 stops on average
to various warehouse and distribution centersResponsible for inspecting the truck before and after each trip, keeping the truck clean, and
communicating professionally and timely with customers, colleagues, and FST employees
You will observe and comply with all traf f ic regulations - federal, state, and local, communicate
with Dispatch, Safety, FST, and customers using wireless devices or on-board computer systems,
and ensure the safe transportation and delivery of freight to designated locations
You will operate an ELD logging device as well as operate various mobile applications
You will comply with all FMCSA and DOT rules and regulations as they pertain to the transportation
industry
Safety will be your number 1 priority
You will be expected to maintain all appropriate records such as: hours travelled, miles covered,
expenses incurred, etc. and ensure that all necessary documentation with respect to freight is
properly filled out and submitted.
You will make sure all receipts are kept safe and secure, inspect your assigned vehicle regularly to
identify and repair minor faults as well as report major mechanical breakdown to your Dispatch
Manager, and report any delay that may affect the timely delivery of freight to dispatch
You will be held accountable to comply with all defined business process and the utilization of all
technology platforms, as defined by FST

Pass a DOT physical
Pass Road Test given by a Fleet Safety team member or designated experienced driver
Crouch, bend, stoop, and squat while performing Pre and Post trip inspections
Climb into and out of the tractor multiple times per day using 3 points of contact
Lift/pull up to 100 lbs. at times such as: opening hood on tractor, cranking trailer landing great up
and down, opening/closing trailer doors
Lift up to 50 lbs. overhead to lift items into tractor cab
Sit for long periods of time
Walk long distances to and from warehouses
Enough leg and foot control to safely operate clutch, break and fuel pedals in various traffic and
weather conditions
Enough arm and hand control to safely operate steering wheel and gear shifters and dash controls
Ability to work and sleep in a moderately noisy environment
Work outside for short periods of time in all types of weather conditions
