Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance structural integrity, and ensure high-quality results that meet safety and aesthetic standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion and durability.
- Use hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), brushes, rollers, and conventional spray equipment to apply coatings efficiently and evenly.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to determine project scope and specific painting requirements.
- Perform construction site surface preparation tasks such as masonry work, stucco application, concrete finishing, and fixture installation to ensure surfaces are ready for painting or coating.
- Execute various types of painting including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, structural painting, restoration projects, and renovation work.
- Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols on-site, and maintaining a clean work environment to prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, drywall installers, and other tradespeople to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless completion of tasks.
- Accurately interpret technical drawings and schematics for precise application of paints and coatings according to project specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, safety inspections conducted, and project progress updates.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or related fields with a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with residential painting projects as well as commercial or industrial coating applications.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as caulking guns, brushes, rollers; power tools including sanders and airless sprayers; ladder use; scaffolding; and other equipment necessary for high-quality finishes.
- Knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate hues and finishes that meet client specifications.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings like blueprints or schematics accurately.
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to paint quantities or surface areas.
- Additional skills such as carpentry (trim carpentry), plastering, masonry work or welding are a plus but not required.
