Job Description:
As a bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a positive guest experience, and maintaining a clean and well-organized bar area. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication and multitasking skills to handle customer orders efficiently while maintaining a fun and inviting atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Greet/welcome customers in a timely manner and thank them for coming in. Make sure the customers have seating, menus, and prompt drink service.
- Always obtain the credit card to open a tab before serving food or drink.
- Maintain current menu knowledge (including new or seasonal items, also awareness of 86’d items)
- Prepare and serve drinks according to R&R recipes or customer preferences.
- Check identification to ensure guests are of legal drinking age.
- Mix and serve beverages accurately and efficiently while maintaining high service standards.
- Monitor and control inventory of bar supplies and liquor.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar area, ensuring proper sanitation and safety standards are met.
- Follow the checklists for opening, shift change, closing, and side work.
- Engage with customers to create a welcoming and friendly environment.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, following all POS system protocols.
- Assist in stocking and replenishing bar supplies as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow all state and local alcohol service laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Keep your availability updated in Homebase so scheduling can be done accurately without changes. All shift coverage must be approved by management in Homebase.
- Other duties as necessary.
Working Conditions:
- This position involves working in a busy, dynamic environment.
- This position involves standing on your feet for long hours, lifting and stocking product, and carrying up to fifty pounds.
- Shifts may vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining focus and professionalism.
- Depending on the shift, this position may require multitasking while monitoring and running food, some salad or appetizer prep, prepping and serving drinks, pre-bussing tables, and cleaning tables after use/between customers.
