American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and ED experience for a night shift position rotating between acute and long-term care settings.

Rotates between acute care and long-term care (LTC) settings
-
Adult critical care and emergency department environment
-
Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
-
Patient ratio of 1:20
-
Special procedures include ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene
-
Equipment used includes Hamilton Vent, Servo-U Vent, NKV330 (NIV device), AIRVO2, Dream Machines, and V30s
-
Epic EMR experience preferred
-
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
-
Every other weekend required
-
On-call required approximately one night every other week (nights preferred)

Active RRT credential required
-
BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
-
Adult critical care experience required
-
Emergency department experience required
-
Proficiency with airway management including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning

Experience with nebulizer therapy (handheld, T-piece, trach collar) and oxygen therapy modalities including HFNC, bag and mask, ET tube, T-piece, and trach collar

Ventilator management skills including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

License required if applicable

2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Scrub color requirement: any shade of gray or a gray/black combination
