Equipment Operators operate heavy construction equipment used in utility installation, maintenance, and repair. This position supports excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and other utility construction activities while maintaining a safe job site.

Operate excavators, plows, dozers, trenchers, skid steers, hydro-vacs, and other construction equipment.

Safely load and unload equipment from trailers.

Perform digging, trenching, grading, backfilling, and other utility installation work.

Identify and avoid existing underground utilities and hand dig when required.

Read and follow construction plans, utility maps, and job layouts.

Complete equipment logs and required job documentation.

Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements and participate in daily safety meetings.

Communicate with crew members, foremen, and supervisors regarding job progress or safety concerns.

Assist with training laborers and other crew members as needed.

Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment operating experience in utility construction or a related field.

Ability to safely operate at least one commonly used piece of construction equipment.

Ability to read utility maps, blueprints, and job plans.

Good communication skills.

Ability to pass required background check and drug screening.
