Performs a variety of tasks in direct support of law enforcement activities. Responds to Police dispatch-based calls for service, conducts investigations, and writes reports for calls not requiring Police Officer presence, including minor motor vehicle collisions, parking violations, and minor criminal incidents. As necessary, works with Police Officers and City employees to investigate various crimes, direct traffic, and assist with other police department activities. Responsible for generating self-initiated activities such as locating abandoned vehicles, parking violations, and assisting stranded motorists.
Additional duties may include oversight of the body-worn camera system, all body-worn camera, and Taser products, including Evidence.com and redactions. Oversight of the drone program to include equipment and training of personnel, or any other related tasks as assigned (by assignment).
High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
One (1) year of public contact or customer service experience, preferably in a law enforcement, security, detention, or related position.
Valid Arizona Operator’s Driver’s License.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must complete and pass a training program conducted by the Avondale Police Department within twelve (12) months of hire.
Required to pass and obtain Part 107 Drone Operator License within 6 months (by assignment).
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation and polygraph.
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
