Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Custodian / Day Porter to help keep an office building clean, stocked, and presentable throughout the day. This position is responsible for maintaining common areas, restrooms, break areas, and high-traffic spaces while responding to cleaning needs as they come up during the shift.
The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while moving throughout the building during the day.
Schedule and Pay
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Some weekends may be required
Duties
- Remove trash from offices, common areas, restrooms, break rooms, and other areas throughout the building.
- Stock restrooms with paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and other supplies.
- Wipe down restroom counters, sinks, and common surfaces.
- Clean and maintain break areas, including counters, tables, sinks, and trash areas.
- Vacuum high-traffic areas as needed throughout the day.
- Clean up spills and respond to cleaning needs during the shift.
- Check common areas regularly to ensure they remain clean and presentable.
- Sweep, mop, wipe surfaces, and perform light custodial duties as needed.
- Notify the supervisor when cleaning supplies or paper products are running low.
- Follow safety procedures when using cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Perform other janitorial or building support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial, janitorial, porter, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred.
- Must be dependable and able to report to work on time.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some weekends as needed.
- Must be able to work independently and stay on task throughout the shift.
- Must be detail-oriented and take pride in keeping the building clean and presentable.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be professional and respectful when working around office staff, visitors, and the public.
- Must be able to pass all required background screening, drug screening, and onboarding requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry trash bags, cleaning supplies, and related materials.
- Must be comfortable walking throughout the building and responding to cleaning needs during the day.
- Must be able to safely use basic cleaning supplies and equipment.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
