CEM Construction Company, the in-house construction arm of a rapidly growing multifamily development firm, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead ground-up multifamily projects from concept through completion. Our office is located in Lakeland, FL, and we develop and build all of our own communities—giving our PMs direct access to ownership, real influence over design, and a long-term pipeline of projects.

Position Summary
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of multifamily construction—including scheduling, budget management, vendor coordination, and site performance—to ensure each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Candidates must have a proven track record of completing multifamily projects in a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ground-up multifamily projects from pre-construction through turnover.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with superior quality and safety.
- Review drawings, proposals, and project documents to define scope, timelines, and resource needs.
- Lead subcontractor procurement, contracting, and performance management.
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and all project documentation.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and trade coordination.
- Prepare material take-offs, establish cost estimates, and track procurement schedules.
- Coordinate with internal development teams, engineers, architects, and inspectors.
- Maintain strong relationships with ownership, subcontractors, suppliers, and jurisdictional authorities.
- Manage project financials, forecasting, and reporting.
- Organize and oversee multiple activities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager specifically in multifamily construction.
- Proven record of success on large and/or complex multifamily projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with construction technology; Procore, Autodesk experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of vertical construction sequencing, MEP systems, and site development.
- Ability to lead teams, solve problems efficiently, and communicate effectively.
- Must be willing to relocate to or work from Lakeland, FL as this position operates from our Lakeland office.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
