PURPOSE/SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
To provide career assessment, advising, counseling, and job placement activities with refugee, immigrants, and persons living with a disability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & COMPETENCIES

Provides comprehensive assessment, service planning, counseling, advising with clients and follow up

Actively engages in job development by connecting with employers, advocating for clients, maintaining strong working relationships with employers
- Assists with job placement and continues to monitor job retention

Maintains client-related documentation standards by preparing and completing in a timely manner all required records and reports

Classroom instruction: develops and leads employment-related classroom activities, workshops.

Assists clients with resume preparation, cover letters, portfolios, interviews.

Works closely with clients on barrier removal (problems preventing the clients from obtaining and retaining employment), one-on-one and/or in group settings.
Minimum of a master’s degree in counseling, preferably career counseling or rehabilitation counseling; or 7 years of equivalent experience.
REQUIRED LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to express oneself in an articulate and effective manner both verbally and in written communication.
Comfort communicating with individuals for whom English is their second language.
REQUIRED REASONING ABILITY
Ability to deal with abstract as well as concrete concepts and dynamic situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
