Company Controller
Join Our Team (on-site) at BETE located in Greenfield, MA. We are seeking a senior finance professional responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal financial controls to ensure the company's financial records are accurate and compliant with regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own and execute monthly close (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis)
- Oversee manufacturing accounting including inventory, costing, WIP, and cost variances
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
- Oversee accounting operations including AR, AP, and cash flow oversight
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Partner with operations and leadership on financial insights and issue resolution
- Support audit preparation and external requests as needed Improve accounting processes and support ERP/system clean-up if applicable
- Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff (if applicable)
Required Skills / Technologies:
- 8+ years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior Controller experience
- Strong knowledge of inventory, costing, and manufacturing financials
- Month-end close ownership and financial reporting expertise
- Advanced Excel skills ERP system experience (manufacturing-focused ERP preferred)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- CPA or CMA ERP implementation or optimization experience
- Prior interim/contract consulting background
- Audit or PE-backed manufacturing exposure
Soft Skills / Culture Fit: Hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset
- Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Strong communicator with non-finance stakeholders
- Ability to quickly assess issues and execute solutions
- Professional, steady presence during transition
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance; or Business Administration
- Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and professional experience.
Reporting Relationship Reports to the CFO
Payrate: $125k - $155k annual
