Overview
We are seeking a dyamic Quality Lab Technician to join our team! In this position supports the Engineering Department's qualification of new or improved products through dimensional inspections and functional testing.
Duties
- Performs all dimensional and visual inspections on new and existing products to ensure conformance to specifications and accuracy. Results from inspections determine the approval of new molds and existing mold enhancements.
- Utilizes measuring instruments such as calipers, drop indicators, depth gauges, and optical comparators.
- Documents inspection results on spreadsheets.
- Manufactures samples as needed and may be required to operate an injection molding machine or assembly machine.
- Performs statistical analyses and generates reports based on findings, including recommendations.
- Supports the Material Review Board and Quality Department with root cause analyses of defective products to assist in continuous improvement efforts.
- Evaluates and makes improvements to inspection and test procedures as needed and assists in training employees on new test procedures as required.
- When work in the primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.
Qualifications
- Experience performing dimensional and visual inspections.
- Must know how to use calipers, depth gauges, optical comparators, and other measuring equipment.
- Comfortable documenting inspection results and generating reports.
- 3+ Years of Manufacturing or quality inspection experience required.
