Post-Operative/Wellness Medical Assistant Support

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our post-operative care and wellness team. This hybrid position is ideal for someone who thrives in a clinical setting but enjoys working directly with patients in a supportive and elective care environment. You'll play a key role in post-surgical recovery, wellness services, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy support. Key Responsibilities: Post-Operative & Wellness Support
- Administer and monitor Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), red light therapy treatments, CO2 lift pro masks
- Assist with dressing changes, suture removal, and wound care
- Educate patients on post-op instructions, medication compliance, and recovery expectations
- Perform Vitamin Injections and administer IV Therapy
- Assist in room turnover, pre- and post-surgical setup, and sterilization of instruments
- Serve as a liaison between patients and surgical team for follow-up care coordination
Clinical & Administrative Duties
- Escort patients to exam rooms; take vitals and medical history
- Update medication records
- Assist in scheduling and confirming appointments for post surgical patients
- Maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms and treatment areas
- Performs cleaning and sterilization of medical instruments
- Washes and folds clinical laundry
- Assist Peri-Operative Nurse & Wellness Nurse with daily tasks pertaining to patient care and clinical operations
Qualifications:
- MA certification or active RN license (California) a plus
- Experience working with hyperbaric therapy (a plus)
- 2+ year working in a clinical or medical aesthetic environment
- IV therapy certification (a plus)
- CPR certification (a plus)
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Excellent communication and bedside manner
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Experience assisting in a surgical or post-op environment
- Empathetic with patient needs and concerns
- Ability to work well with physicians, anticipating their needs in regards to patient treatment
- Passion for the aesthetic and wellness industries
- Familiarity with skin anatomy and minor surgical procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility and team-oriented mindset
