Department Information:
- 8 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology
- Average patients/day: 45-50 cases
Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years specific to IR Body/IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Interventional Radiology Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Stroke, Cancer, Tumors, occlusions-Peripheral, Carotid, IVC, SVC, etc.
- Neuro: Stroke, Ruptures, Subdural fistulas
- (3 Neurosurgeons & 1 Neuroradiologist)
- Body: Traumas, complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90, Sir spheres, biopsies and various drainage and access procedures. 7 Providers & 4 APP s
Required License, National Certification, Certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
- IR Tech: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS
Skills required: Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; Circulating-operating equipment, providing needed supplies
Support within the Department:
- Tech extenders 3 currently on staff to assist with room turnover, paperwork, transport & inventory. 2 per day.
- 2 Techs per Room with RN
- 4 Neuro providers Neuro Radiologist and 3 Neurosurgeons
- 7 Body Docs
Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC Encompass
Department specific Equipment: Siemens, Client and Philips imaging systems and Client US Units

Orientation (facility and unit): Up to 2 weeks

- Scrub Color: hospital provided
- Parking: Free
- Department Culture: Very green with new grads need to be comfortable with new grads and preceptorship, if needed
