We are seeking an experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our dirt work crew. This position requires someone who is confident operating a skid steer and has hands-on experience grading residential lots.
This is not an entry-level operator position. Applicants should be able to perform grading and dirt work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently
- Rough grade residential lots
- Perform final grading around completed homes
- Backfill foundations and other areas as needed
- Complete exterior construction cleans and lot cleanups
- Spread, move, and shape dirt to achieve proper grade
- Work around homes, foundations, driveways, utilities, and other improvements without causing damage
- Load and move dirt and construction debris
- Perform basic daily equipment inspections and help keep equipment clean and maintained
- Work with other crew members to complete jobs efficiently
Requirements
- Previous skid steer operating experience required
- Must have experience grading residential lots
- Able to complete both rough and final grades
- Able to read the lot and understand proper drainage and slope
- Comfortable working in tight areas around completed and partially completed homes
- Dependable and able to show up consistently and on time
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Must take care of company equipment and operate it responsibly
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who can get in a machine and actually operate it—not someone who is still learning. The ideal candidate understands residential dirt work, can look at a lot and determine what needs to be done, and takes pride in leaving a clean, properly graded jobsite.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
