Duties
- Welcome guests warmly as a Hostess, managing reservations and seating arrangements to optimize flow and guest satisfaction
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and safety protocols
- Buss tables promptly by clearing dishes, resetting tables for new guests, and assisting with light cleaning duties to uphold cleanliness standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change while practicing excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Support catering or banquet events by setting up tables, serving guests, and maintaining guest relations throughout the event
Skills
- Proven experience in food service roles such as server, host/hostess, busser, or food runner; banquet or catering experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective order taking, guest interaction, and team coordination
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling of food and beverages
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly for cash handling and POS transactions
- Skilled in cleaning procedures including dishwashing and maintaining a sanitized environment
- Familiarity with restaurant technology systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous
- Excellent guest service abilities with a friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and professionalism at all times
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating attention to detail in meal preparation and order accuracy
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift trays or boxes, and perform light cleaning tasks efficiently
