Oversee the operations of VEMS including personnel management and administrative performance with focus on Vehicle management, IT/Radios, and Paramedic continued EMS education.

- Valid and current State of Connecticut Driver’s License
- Valid and current Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic Certification
- Minimum of two years as a paramedic
- Valid and current ACLS and PALS (or ALS PEPP) certification
- Must pass sponsor hospital protocol test upon hiring
- Working knowledge of health and safety training and policy-setting
- Administrative experience in a business setting with public safety or not-for-profit experience preferred
- Working knowledge of State of Connecticut EMS system and regulations
- Computer literacy with the ability to develop graphical documentation and analytical spreadsheets
- Working knowledge of ambulance billing
Preferred Qualifications:
- EMS Supervisor experience 2 years
- AHA – CPR, ACLS, PALS Instructor
- PHTLS/ITLS Instructor
- CT EMSI
Duties/Requirements:
- Full Time Salaried employee
- The position requires 32 to 40 hours a week on shift, Days, Evenings and Overnights. Must be flexible and available for on call rotation
- Manage and oversee deployment and posting of VEMS paramedics while on duty
- Manage and oversee scheduling of staff as needed when Scheduling supervisor is away
- Manages fleet maintenance and rotation.
- Oversee the purchase of new vehicles as approved by board of directors.
- Development and implementation of ALS CME program in compliance with Local, State and National requirements
- Respond to 911 emergency calls as a paramedic
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, FDA, CDC, state, local and other governmental regulations, and mandates
- Conduct themselves in a manner that is compliant with all relevant regulations, statutes ordinances and laws
- Conduct themselves in respectful, professional manner that is representative of high moral standing and character in all dealings with the public and other staff
- Prepare reports and statistics that may be requested
- Attend appropriate meetings that may pertain to VEMS as required
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Abide by the VEMS Code of Ethics
