American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 3-5 years of high risk, high acuity L&D experience and current NRP certification.

Work in a high risk, high volume Labor and Delivery unit with 31 rooms and 4 ORs
-
Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
-
Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients

Patient ratio of 1:1-2
-
Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring

Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
-
Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
-
Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
-
Float required to Post Partum and Antepartum units, including sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
-
Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
-
Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
-
Current BLS and NRP certifications required

ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
-
Minimum of 3-5 years of RN experience in a high acuity, high paced Labor and Delivery environment required

High risk L&D experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Must function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum
-
Must be able to circulate and provide newborn care including eye and Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments
-
Experience with high risk deliveries, vaginal and cesarean delivery support, hemorrhage/shock management, and medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin drips, and anticoagulation therapy required

Current Nursys verification required, proof must accompany consideration

Must pass clinical review

2 current supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care following AWHONN guidelines
-
Skills utilized include amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum extraction assistance, sterile vaginal exams, fetal heart rate pattern recognition, and neonatal resuscitation
-
Postpartum care responsibilities include couplet care, breastfeeding support, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and wound assessment

Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate

Candidates must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, or may be considered as local within that radius

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the consideration process, as post-offer requests may not be granted

Former permanent staff at other Providence facilities may be eligible for this travel contract after a 3-month separation period
