Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to meet health and safety standards
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff through clear communication to ensure smooth service flow
- Follow food safety management protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Support meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating strong kitchen skills
- Knowledge of dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques, including slicing, chopping, and portioning with proper knife skills
- Familiarity with food safety standards in production and handling processes
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal presentation guidelines
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
- Culinary experience or training in the food industry is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness in all tasks undertaken
