We are seeking a dedicated Occupancy Specialist to join our team. who can work well with a diverse socioeconomic population. Responsibilities include:
1. Eligibility Certifications:
- Initial and Ongoing Eligibility: Conducting interviews and gathering documentation to determine initial and continuing eligibility for Section 8 housing assistance.
- Verification: Verifying information provided by applicants and participants, such as income, employment, and household composition.
2. Rent Determinations:
- Calculations: Calculating tenant rents based on income and other factors as per HUD guidelines.
3. Lease Processing:
- Lease Agreements: Assisting with the creation and renewal of lease agreements between tenants and landlords while ensuring leases comply with all relevant laws and program regulations.
4. Maintaining Records:
- Database Management: Entering and updating participant information in the Authority’s computer system.
- Documentation: Ensuring complete and accurate records of all program activities, including eligibility determinations, rent calculations, and HAP payments.
- Case Management: Managing a large caseload, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that participant records are kept up-to-date.
Skills and Qualifications
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in eligibility certifications, rent determinations, and payment processing.
- Organizational Skills: Managing a large caseload and meeting deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with applicants, participants, and landlords.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilizing the Authority’s computer systems to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Understanding HUD guidelines and other relevant regulations governing the Section 8 program.

Full-time 35 hour work week. Monday- Thursday 8:00 am - 4:15 pm; Friday 8:00 am-12:00pm

Pay: $57,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
