Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic mental health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, symptoms, and clinical findings.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including psychopharmacology interventions, ensuring safe and effective use aligned with best practices.
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up appointments, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to optimize mental health outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex psychiatric conditions, including those in assisted living, nursing homes, or outpatient settings.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for diverse populations across different settings.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies to promote recovery and well-being.
Experience
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in psychiatry or mental health nursing.
- Proven experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings, including outpatient clinics or hospital environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, CPT coding, ICD coding (including ICD-10), and medication management protocols.
- Prior exposure to telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring tools is advantageous.
