Our guests can order directly from our friendly cashiers or skip the line using QR codes throughout the space. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented team members who can seamlessly bridge the gap between order-taking, food running, and pristine presentation.
### The Role: What You’ll Do
As a Cashier/Runner, you are the heartbeat of the guest experience and the final line of defense for quality control. You’ll wear a few different hats, ensuring that every guest leaves happy and every plate looks picture-perfect.
#### **1. Guest Interaction & Order Taking**
* **The Face of Malena:** Greet guests warmly, answer questions about the menu, and guide them through our unique ordering setup.
* **Cashiering:** Efficiently operate the POS system, handle cash and card transactions accurately, and manage modifications or dietary restrictions.
* **Tech Guiding:** Help guests navigate our QR code ordering system if they choose to order from their tables.
#### **2. Quality Assurance & Presentation (The "Final Look")**
* **Plate Perfection:** Act as our Quality Assurance champion. Before any food leaves the pass, ensure plates and bowls are pristine—no smudges, drips, or spills.
* **High-Quality Presentation:** Verify that the food matches Malena’s high standards for visual appeal and presentation. If it doesn't look beautiful, it doesn't go out.
* **Accuracy Check:** Cross-reference tickets to ensure modifications, sauces, and sides are exactly what the guest ordered.
#### **3. Food Running & Dining Room Navigation**
* **Efficient Delivery:** Swiftly and safely navigate the energetic Maydan Market floor to deliver hot, fresh food to the correct tables.
* **Clear Communication:** Work closely with the kitchen team and fellow front-of-house staff to keep the food flowing smoothly.
#### **4. Keeping it Clean (Side Duties)**
* Maintain a spotless, organized workspace at the register and the expo window.
* Wipe down counters, organize packaging materials, and assist in keeping the dining area clean and welcoming.
* Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
### What We Are Looking For
* **The Hustle:** Ability to stay calm, focused, and fast-paced during peak rush hours.
* **An Eye for Detail:** You notice the little things—a smudge on a plate, a missing side, or a guest who needs assistance.
* **Communication Skills:** Friendly, clear, and confident when speaking with both guests and kitchen staff.
* **Team First Mentality:** Willingness to jump in wherever needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
* **Experience:** Prior experience as a cashier, barista, food runner, or server is a major plus, but a great attitude and eagerness to learn matter most!
