Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Slip Sheet Operator to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. The Slip Sheet Operator is responsible for efficiently handling slip sheets—specialized load-bearing sheets used to replace pallets—and operating various heavy equipment to ensure the safe and accurate movement of goods within warehouse distribution centers. This role plays a vital part in optimizing shipping, receiving, and materials handling processes, contributing to smooth warehouse operations and timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards.
Duties
- Operate equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, forklifts, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials safely within the warehouse.
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements, update order statuses, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Handle order picking tasks with precision using <PERSON> pickers and other equipment to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying incoming goods, and maintaining accurate records.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and effectively.
- Assist in materials handling tasks including heavy lifting, load securing, and proper placement of goods on pallets or slip sheets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to OSHA safety regulations.
- Support warehouse supervision by following established procedures for inventory control and reporting any discrepancies or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse distribution processes and improve overall operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, forklift trucks (Lift truck), Hi-Lo, pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics environments is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and weight assessments.
- Excellent attention to detail for order picking, shipping & receiving documentation, and inventory accuracy.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and operating heavy equipment safely.
