Manufacturing Estimator / Quoting Specialist

Elsner Engineering Works is seeking a Manufacturing Estimator / Quoting Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you'll combine your manufacturing knowledge with customer interaction, project analysis, and cost estimating to help drive business growth and deliver exceptional service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with machining, fabrication, welding, or manufacturing experience who is ready to expand their career beyond the shop floor and play a key role in customer success.
What You'll Do
- Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, and bills of material to develop accurate and competitive quotations.
- Analyze manufacturing requirements and determine the most efficient production methods.
- Read and interpret customer-supplied and proprietary engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify project requirements, timelines, and expectations.
- Prepare cost estimates based on labor, materials, machining requirements, and production capabilities.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to ensure accurate pricing and delivery commitments.
- Support negotiations and pricing discussions while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Coordinate technical questions with appropriate internal resources.
- Assist with project planning and ongoing customer support throughout the quoting process.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a machine shop, fabrication shop, manufacturing environment, or estimating/quoting role.
- Strong understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing manufacturing estimates and quotations.
- ERP system experience (Epicor preferred).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
