General Shop Laborer / Skilled Trades Laborer
Location: Big Lake, Alaska
Pay: $20.00–$30.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Job Overview
We are seeking motivated, dependable individuals to join our manufacturing and construction team. We are looking for welders, framers, and general laborers of varying skill levels who are eager to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, hands-on work environment and develop their skillset.This position offers opportunities to work across multiple trades, including framing, welding, assembly, and general construction. Experience with plumbing and electrical work is a plus. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.The ideal candidate understands that versatility is essential. Team members are expected to be cross-trained and willing to assist in various trades and projects as business needs require.
Duties
- Support fabrication, welding, framing, assembly, and construction activities.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform basic measurements using tape measures, and other precision tools to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret building plans accurately to ensure, construction, and assembly tasks are completely with quality and accuracy.
- Assist with plumbing and electrical work as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following company safety procedures and proper tool storage practices.
- Work collaboratively with team members across multiple trades and departments.
Requirements
- Prior experience in fabrication, construction, welding, framing, or related trades is preferred but not required.
- Welders, framers, apprentices, and general laborers of varying skill levels are encouraged to apply.
- Willingness to learn new skills and become cross-trained in multiple trades is essential.
- Experience with plumbing and electrical work is a plus.
- Basic mechanical knowledge, including tooling, framing methods
- Ability to safely operate forklifts
- Understanding building plans and the use of measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift heavy materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Construction management, foreman, crew lead, or supervisory experience is a plus.
