HCA Solutions is looking for a qualified Dental Laboratory Technician Instructor to work at SCI Cambridge Springs in Cambridge Springs, PA.
This is a full-time, long-term placement position that pays via W2. This position offers medical, dental, vision, 401k, company paid STD & LTD, paid time off, paid holidays and more.
Schedule is Monday - Friday 7:30a - 3:30pm
Position Summary
The Dental Laboratory Technician Instructor provides hands-on vocational training to
incarcerated individuals within a Correctional Industries (CI) program. This role combines
technical expertise in dental laboratory procedures with instructional skill, workplace
coaching, and a commitment to rehabilitation. The instructor oversees daily lab
operations, teaches industry-standard techniques, ensures product quality, and prepares
participants for successful employment upon release.
Key Responsibilities
Vocational Instruction — Deliver structured training in dental lab skills including
impressions, model fabrication, waxing, casting, finishing, and digital workflows.
Curriculum Development — Create lesson plans, competency checklists, and training
modules aligned with industry standards (NADL, ADA).
Hands-On Training — Demonstrate proper use of equipment, tools, and materials;
supervise participants as they practice and complete production tasks.
Quality Control — Inspect work products for accuracy, fit, and finish; ensure all dental
appliances meet commercial and clinical specifications.
Safety C Compliance — Enforce OSHA, infection control, and facility safety protocols;
maintain secure tool and material inventories.
Production Management — Coordinate workflow, meet production deadlines, and
maintain documentation for CI contracts and customers.
Participant Development — Mentor incarcerated workers in employability skills,
professionalism, teamwork, and workplace ethics.
Collaboration — Work with correctional staff, CI supervisors, and external partners to
support program goals.
Required Qualifications
Dental Laboratory Technician experience (typically 3–5 years) in areas such as removable
prosthetics.
Knowledge of dental materials, equipment, and fabrication processes.
Ability to teach, coach, and evaluate learners with diverse skill levels.
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Ability to work in a correctional environment and follow all facility rules.
Ability to pass a background investigation.
Able to provide 3 professional references upon application.
Preferred Ǫualifications
Certified Dental Technician (CDT) credential.
Prior experience in adult education, vocational training, or correctional education.
Experience with digital dentistry (CAD/CAM, 3D printing, scanning)- Optional
Familiarity with trauma-informed teaching and reentry-focused workforce development.
