Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in reading blueprints, interpreting mechanical drawings, and utilizing various machining tools will be essential to ensure the highest quality standards. Duties
- Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce metal parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) requirements
- Set up machines by selecting appropriate tooling, calibrating measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and ensuring proper machine alignment
- Perform precision measurements during manufacturing using measurement tools to verify dimensions meet quality standards
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for machining, assembly, and finishing processes
- Read and interpret technical drawings to determine machining sequences and tooling requirements
- Conduct quality inspections on finished parts using precision measuring instruments, ensuring adherence to specifications and tolerances
- Assist in machine maintenance, tool setup, and troubleshooting during production runs
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling machinery and tools
Experience
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical blueprint interpretation and the ability to translate drawings into precise machined parts
- Proficiency with machining tools including lathes, grinders, mills, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments
- Ability to perform machine setup accurately and efficiently for various machining operations including lathe work and milling tasks
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
