The Culinary Director plays a critical leadership role in ensuring excellence in food quality, kitchen systems, food safety, and back-of-house team development. This leader will champion operational excellence while building a culture of ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
The Culinary Director is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, maintaining Chick-fil-A brand standards, developing leaders, and ensuring guests consistently receive remarkable food experiences.

Ensure exceptional execution of all Chick-fil-A food standards, recipes, and procedures

Lead kitchen operations with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, speed, and consistency

Maintain excellence in food presentation, freshness, and taste

Continuously evaluate and improve back-of-house systems and workflows

Monitor production levels and kitchen efficiency to support business demand

Partner with leadership to execute operational goals and improve overall restaurant performance

Champion a culture of food safety and cleanliness

Ensure compliance with all Chick-fil-A standards, health department regulations, and internal procedures

Oversee safe food handling, storage, rotation, and sanitation practices

Conduct routine food safety audits and coaching conversations

Maintain readiness for inspections and evaluations

Lead, coach, and develop kitchen leaders and team members

Create a culture of accountability, ownership, and teamwork

Train and mentor future leaders within the back-of-house

Support onboarding and training systems for new team members

Provide clear expectations, feedback, and encouragement to help team members grow

Assist in managing food cost, waste reduction, and inventory accuracy

Monitor ordering processes and product usage

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while protecting food quality

Help ensure adequate product availability for daily operations
