A leading architectural metalwork and custom fabrication company in Suffolk County, NY is seeking an exceptionally skilled Senior Ornamental Welder / Metal Fabricator to join their team. They specialize in high-end residential and commercial custom metal projects, creating high-impact decorative gates, custom staircases, ornamental railings, and architectural accents across Long Island and New York. Responsibilities
Fabricate complex, custom architectural and ornamental metal assemblies from concept drawings or architectural blueprints with minimal supervision.
Execute flawless MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welds across thin-gauge and decorative metals, controlling heat input to prevent warping and distortion.
Expertly grind, blend, sand, and polish welds to achieve seamless, show-quality finishes (brushed, polished, or paint/powder-coat ready).
Lay out complex geometries, spiral staircases, custom radiuses, and scrollwork using precision shop math and full-scale layout techniques.
Safely operate ironworkers, press brakes, metal rollers, tube benders, band saws, and cold saws with high precision.
Inspect all assemblies for tight tolerances, squareness, and aesthetic perfection before finishing or delivery.
