Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in a kennel environment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the health and well-being of the animals while maintaining a clean and safe environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animal care and have experience working with various types of pets.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and grooming stations.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Support pet sitting services as needed, ensuring pets receive appropriate attention.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and scheduling appointments.
- Perform heavy lifting as required when moving animals or cleaning equipment.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in animal handling or care, including roles such as Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician.
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is a plus.
- Experience in pet sitting or working in a kennel environment is preferred.
- Strong ability to manage animal restraint safely and effectively.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
