Position Summary:
Premier High School Cleveland is seeking an experienced, inspiring, and collaborative educator to join our faculty as a High School Math Lead Teacher in Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will balance classroom teaching with analysis of growth measures, collaboration with fellow educators and leadership, delivery of curriculum, design of remediation to meet student needs, and student advocacy for grades 9–12.
- Classroom Instruction: Deliver rigorous ELA instruction that builds critical thinking, advanced composition, and literary analysis skills. Teaching experience in a Public School (3+ years preferred).
- Curriculum Alignment: Deliver, remediate, and align the 9–12 curriculum with Ohio's Learning Standards for English Language Arts.
- Collaborate with fellow lead teachers/faculty through classroom observations, co-planning sessions, and professional development.
- Data-Driven Growth: Analyze student assessment trends from Ohio State Tests (OST) to lead targeted reading and writing intervention strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English or Secondary Education.
- Licensure: Valid, active Ohio Professional Educator License for Secondary Education (Grades 7–12) with an Integrated Language Arts endorsement.
- Clearances: Must pass Ohio BCI and FBI criminal background checks required for state school employment.

- Able to learn and implement teaching curriculum programs and instruct students on utilization.

- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results, state assessment scoring, and grade point average.
- Flexibility with changes, etc.
- Must have a clear understanding of goal setting for students and the individualized
approach.
- Must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of students, their parents, the community, peers, administrative staff, Campus Directors, Superintendents, and corporate staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for the Instructional and Program Management for all students assigned, including but not limited to classroom instruction, after-school, and Saturday tutorials.
- Administer and monitor Diagnostic Tests to determine a student’s performance level.
- Instruct and motivate students in all course studies.
- Assign lessons and correct homework promptly.
- Administer tests to evaluate students’ progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.
- Maintain discipline in the classroom.
- Maintain a classroom that is conducive to the learning environment, safe, vivaciously engaging to the student, that promotes academic excellence and moral character.
- Set a good housekeeping example in the classroom and encourage students to follow this example.
- Communicate with parents and schedule periodic meetings, before or after school, to discuss student progress and problems.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Inspire students with consistency, care, and interest to build self-esteem and promote continued success.
- Praise students' achievements, compliment their performance, and encourage them to build long-lasting character.
- Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the student learning experience.
- Prepare classroom instructions to promote student success on state assessment exams.
- Work closely with the special education teacher to ensure modifications are being implemented for special education students.
- Perform related duties such as assisting and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems.
NOTE: After normal business hours may include, but is not limited to, Saturday Mandatory State Tutorials.
Other Responsibilities and Duties:
- Master the Premier High School Curriculum System to assist the students in mastering Premier Model expectations.
- Read and comply with the ResponsiveEd Procedures Manual, Student Handbook, Student Code of Conduct, and Employee Handbook.
- Perform special projects during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned.
