Summary:
Responds to calls received from members, attorneys, and branch/other department staff, monitors and processes restrained accounts, and processes levies, Subpoena Duces Tecums, death claims, guardianship accounts, restraining notices and subpoenas. Ensures that all work is reviewed and approved prior to processing and all required information is entered into the appropriate system/log in an accurate/timely manner
Education and/or Experience:
-
A high school education or GED required
-
Oral/written communication, mathematical, problem-solving, multitasking, computer and internet skills, and telephone etiquette required

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required

One year experience in a banking or legal environment preferred

Knowledge of legal terminology and applicable laws/regulations/reporting requirements, banking policies, procedures, practices, protocols, systems and programs preferred
Job Responsibilities:
-
Monitor restrained accounts for withdrawals and debits to ensure available balance is maintained. Handle exemption claims and releases, receive required documentation and approval, remove flags, and mail notifications to members and attorneys.
- Process restraining notices and levies
- Review Subpoena Duces Tecums, inform attorneys of fees, research/copy requested member information and statements

Receive death claims, ensure all necessary paperwork is included, create files, forward copies of death certificates to other Teachers departments as required, and close accounts. Send, following approval, required letters and distribute checks to beneficiaries/family members.
- Review paperwork required to establish Guardianship Accounts for completeness, inform the court of receipt, and create files. Notify the court when accounts are established and provide annual reports on account activity.

Review Trust accounts by determining if they qualify and, following approval, make required changes

Process restraining notices and subpoenas

Fill out subpoenas, prepare notification letters and, following approval, mail them to appropriate parties

Maintain/update department files

Cross sell to members by advising them of other products and services that they can take advantage of and completing applications for Retail products/services.
- Perform other duties as needed upon request from immediate supervisor

The good faith range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00 per hour. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
