Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer/Sourcing Specialist to join our procurement team. In this role, you will drive strategic sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the seamless procurement of materials and services essential to our manufacturing and supply chain operations. Your expertise in contract negotiation, procurement management, and ERP systems will be key to optimizing costs, quality, and delivery performance. Duties
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with category management objectives, ensuring cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Conduct comprehensive supplier evaluations, including root cause analysis, to identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements while maintaining compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) where applicable.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to manage procurement activities, purchase orders, and materials management workflows efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, logistics, quality management, and production planning—to coordinate procurement activities that support supply chain continuity.
- Monitor supplier performance through supplier management programs; address issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing proactively.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends in supply chain management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS; familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is highly desirable.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, contract management, and category management strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with federal regulations governing procurement processes (FAR) is a plus.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions for supply chain issues.
- Strong understanding of logistics, materials management, production planning, and quality assurance principles.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and stakeholders. Pay: $72,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
