We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and identify potential drug interactions or contraindications
- Prepare and compound medications, including sterile preparations following USP 797 guidelines and aseptic techniques
- Manage pharmacy operations, including inventory control, medication storage, and ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards
- Provide clinical consultation on pain management, pediatrics, acute care, and medical management strategies to healthcare teams and patients
- Administer immunizations and perform basic life support (BLS) procedures as required by certification standards
- Utilize pharmacy information systems (PIS), electronic health record (EHR) systems, and other software to document patient interactions and medication records accurately
Skills
- Extensive experience in critical care, hospital, or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy environments with a focus on acute care or pain management
- Proven ability to practice as a licensed pharmacist with a strong understanding of pharmacy laws, drug regulation, and healthcare compliance
- Exceptional patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics and community clients
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and medication management
- Skilled in managing pharmacy teams or supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care
- Proficiency in pharmacy software applications, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR systems, and pharmacy information systems (PIS) for efficient workflow management
- Experience with compounding medications using aseptic techniques and managing IV infusions or infusions for hospital patients
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, USP 797 standards for sterile compounding, and drug regulation policies
