At Coastal Maine General Contracting, we believe exceptional construction begins long before the first board is installed. Our Preconstruction team develops projects that are organized, accurately budgeted, thoughtfully planned, and ready for successful execution.
We're looking for a Preconstruction Project Manager to become a key member of that team. This role is responsible for developing project estimates, guiding clients through material and fixture selections, coordinating permits, aligning budgets and schedules, and preparing projects for a seamless transition into construction.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare accurate estimates for residential and light commercial projects.
- Develop and manage project budgets throughout the preconstruction process.
- Meet with clients to guide material, finish, fixture, and product selections.
- Align client selections with project budgets while identifying value-driven solutions.
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications.
- Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules and project milestones.
- Solicit and coordinate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and municipal agencies.
- Maintain organized project documentation throughout project development.
- Collaborate closely with the Preconstruction and Operations teams to ensure successful project handoffs.
- Support continuous improvement of estimating methods, workflows, and preconstruction processes.

What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, project development, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of residential and light commercial construction methods and materials.
- Experience preparing project estimates and managing project budgets.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and permitting agencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction estimating or project management software (experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus).
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
