Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 (DOE)
A well-established Japanese global trading company is seeking an Accountant to join its Accounting & Finance team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative international business environment while supporting accounting operations across multiple business units.

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger and supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and experience working with ERP systems.
This role works closely with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Maintain general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and profit & loss statements for assigned business units.

Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts, including inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, and accruals.

Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

Prepare and post journal entries.

Review and process employee expense reports.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.

Support daily cash management activities.

Assist with internal control procedures and compliance initiatives.

Support external and internal audits during quarterly and annual closing.

Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting processes.

Support regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.

Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.

Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

1–4 years of General Ledger (G/L) accounting experience.

Understanding of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and other analytical functions.

Experience using SAP or another ERP system.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.

Understanding of internal controls.

Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.

Experience working in an international or trading company environment is preferred.
