Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all protocols for storage, usage, and disposal to ensure a secure environment.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks for moving furniture, supplies, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supplies used, and safety procedures followed.
- Execute industrial cleaning tasks including equipment sanitation, waste removal, and specialized floor care to uphold facility standards.
- Assist with custodial responsibilities such as trash collection, window washing, and light maintenance duties like minor repairs or painting.
- Support facilities maintenance by identifying repair needs and coordinating with maintenance teams when necessary.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor buffing, carpet cleaning, and use of custodial equipment such as floor buffers or scrubbers.
- Knowledge of chemical handling procedures to ensure safety during cleaning operations.
- Experience with manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or moving bulky items safely.
- Background in facilities maintenance or porter work is advantageous; strong attention to detail and reliability are essential qualities for success in this role.
