Reporting to the Manager, Business Solutions, the Business Solutions Lead provides functional and technical expertise in support of SAP S/4HANA Finance applications and related business processes. This position is responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing and implementing solutions, supporting enterprise applications, leading complex projects, and driving continuous process improvement.
The Team Lead serves as the functional leader for the SAP Finance team, providing technical direction, coordinating work across analysts and project resources, establishing best practices, mentoring team members, and serving as the primary escalation point for complex issues. The role partners closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and business-focused technology solutions.

What You’ll Do
Lead and participate in the design, development, and enhancement of custom and standard SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions and related business applications.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, document, and validate functional and technical requirements and recommend effective technology solutions.
Serve as the technical and functional lead for SAP Finance initiatives, ensuring consistent solution design, adherence to standards, and alignment with enterprise architecture.
Oversee the promotion of configuration and development changes through environments, including writing functional specifications, coordinating testing, obtaining customer approvals, and supporting code/configuration promotion to production to meet business objectives.
Lead multiple concurrent projects and enhancements by planning work, coordinating resources, managing priorities, monitoring timelines, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Drive continuous improvement of business processes through optimization of SAP functionality, automation opportunities, standardization, and adoption of industry best practices.
Research, analyze, develop, and document new business processes, system enhancements, and procedures to implement solutions that meet business needs.
Develop and manage relationships with vendors to support staff augmentation and systems support, in line with the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process.
Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of best-practice standards, policies, procedures, and training plans to ensure optimal daily operations.
Provide integrated systems planning and recommends new or alternative technologies to enhance current systems and support corporate and business goals.
Lead and direct multiple projects, managing resources and monitoring progress.
Establish and maintain communication with stakeholders to keep all parties informed of incidents, problems, and resolutions.
Identify opportunities to improve global standardization and organizational efficiencies.
Serve as a point of escalation for team members' issues requiring higher expertise or discretion, ensuring timely resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
Assist in the development of project estimates, resource planning, and project cost oversight.
Provide in-depth technical consultation to clients and IT management to ensure efficient application systems development using established standards, procedures, and methodologies.
Collaborate with management to identify and prioritize projects related to maintaining existing systems, developing and implementing new systems, resolving complex problems, and evaluating emerging technologies through business cases that include options, recommendations, cost/benefit, and risk analysis.
Research and evaluate new or alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
Assist in creating and maintaining multi-year functional roadmaps for SAP S/4HANA Finance and related business applications.
Contribute to the development of overall strategy, tactics, planning, and execution of initiatives to support IT services.
Document technical design, process flows, and analysis work, including project post-mortem documentation and metric collection.
Maintain application documentation and process topology to ensure alignment between business strategies and the technology roadmap.
Support audits, compliance initiatives, internal controls, and regulatory requirements related to financial systems.
Team Lead Responsibilities In addition to individual contributor responsibilities, the Team Lead will:
Provide day-to-day technical leadership and work coordination for the SAP Finance functional team.
Mentor, coach, and develop Business Solutions Analysts by providing technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional development support.
Assign, prioritize, and coordinate work across team members to ensure timely completion of projects, enhancements, and support activities.
Review solution designs, functional specifications, configuration changes, testing strategies, and implementation plans to ensure quality and consistency.
Lead team meetings, project status reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and cross-functional planning activities.
Foster collaboration across Finance, IT, manufacturing, supply chain, and other business functions.
Support resource planning by identifying staffing needs, participating in recruiting activities, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new team members.
Assist management with performance feedback, employee development planning, succession planning, and skills assessments.
Promote accountability, continuous improvement, customer service excellence, and a collaborative team culture.
Serve as the primary liaison between management, business stakeholders, vendors, and project teams for Finance application initiatives.
Ensure team compliance with established service level agreements (SLAs), change management processes, security standards, and organizational policies.
Champion innovation by identifying opportunities to improve processes, leverage new SAP capabilities, and increase business value through technology.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides technical leadership and work direction to Business Solutions Finance team, project team members, consultants, and contractors. The Business Solutions Finance Team Lead is responsible for coordinating work assignments, mentoring staff, reviewing deliverables, providing technical oversight, and supporting employee development, recruiting, onboarding, and performance feedback.

Solid understanding of GAAP accounting, internal controls, and SAP S/4Hana Finance and Controlling (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Project Systems, Product Costing, Controlling, Profit Center Accounting, Profitability Analysis). Knowledge of integrated processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Inventory Management, Tax Accounting, Treasury/Banking, HR/Payroll, Business Warehouse Reporting).
Demonstrated experience in assigned responsibilities.
Working knowledge of manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience supporting SAP Finance or enterprise business applications.
Minimum of 2 years leading projects, technical initiatives, or functional teams preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certification in either a process discipline (ITIL, PMI, Six Sigma) or technical discipline (SAP, Data Warehousing) is preferred.
