Duties
- Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development for preschool and toddler children
- Assist with daily classroom routines including snack time, diapering or potty training, nap time, and outdoor play
- Supervise children closely to ensure safety and proper behavior management using positive reinforcement techniques
- Engage children in educational games, storytelling, arts and crafts, and sensory activities that foster creativity and learning
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences to build strong partnerships
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards including first aid and pediatric CPR procedures
- Support individualized learning plans for children with special needs or disabilities by collaborating with teachers and specialists
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and abuse prevention
- Certification in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), pediatric first aid is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner
- Hands-on experience caring for infants or toddlers in daycare or home settings will strengthen your application

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
