POSITION SUMMARY
The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County (BGCWC) is seeking an energetic, dependable, and youth-focused Program Assistant to help provide high-quality programs and a safe, positive Club experience for our members.
The Program Assistant works directly with children and teens and assists with the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of daily Club programs and activities. This individual should enjoy working with young people, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and serve as a positive role model for Club members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Assistant will:
- Provide direct supervision and guidance to Club members during daily programs and activities.
- Assist with planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities for youth.
- Facilitate programs in areas such as education, STEM, the arts, sports and recreation, health and wellness, leadership development, career readiness, and life skills.
- Assist with the implementation of Boys & Girls Clubs of America programs and initiatives.
- Create a welcoming, positive, fun, and inclusive environment for all Club members.
- Build positive and professional relationships with youth, parents/guardians, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Encourage good character, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and respect among Club members.
- Provide appropriate behavior guidance and conflict resolution while following BGCWC policies and procedures.
- Maintain active supervision of youth and ensure members remain in designated program areas.
- Follow all Club safety policies, emergency procedures, and youth protection requirements.
- Maintain accurate attendance, program participation, and other required records.
- Assist with member check-in, dismissal, and parent pickup procedures as assigned.
- Prepare program areas and supplies before activities and ensure areas are clean and organized afterward.
- Help maintain Club equipment, materials, games, technology, and program supplies.
- Assist with special events, field trips, community activities, summer programs, and other Club functions.
- Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
- Communicate concerns involving member behavior, safety, incidents, or programming to Club leadership promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and daily operations of BGCWC.
Expected hours: 25.0 per week
