As a Technical Documentation Specialist Intern at LogistiQ, you will support the creation, maintenance, and organization of manuals, service bulletins, and other technical documentation. This role provides additional bandwidth to the documentation team and serves as a backup to the Senior Technical Writer. You will work closely with engineering, production, and service teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and visually engaging documentation.
Assist in developing, revising, and formatting technical manuals, service bulletins, and other technical documentation.
Support the Senior Technical Writer with content organization, proofreading, and document control.
Collaborate with engineering, technical, and production personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
Use SolidWorks and similar CAD applications to capture views and renderings of electromechanical equipment for illustration purposes.
Convey technical concepts clearly through written and visual communication tailored to various audiences.
Participate in the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment (with supervision) to understand system functionality and accurately document related procedures.
Help ensure all documentation adheres to company formatting, branding, and quality standards.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the technical publications function.
Other duties as assigned.
Strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise written and visual materials.
Experience or familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD applications for extracting views and renderings.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and document management systems.
Excellent reading, writing, and proofreading skills in English.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to be hands-on with equipment to gain understanding for documentation purposes.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience or coursework in technical writing, CAD, or documentation preferred.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasional time spent on the production floor observing or assisting with equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
The work environment is a pleasant, temperature-controlled, professional office environment in a manufacturing setting. The employee works primarily in an office setting but has frequent interaction with the shop floor. On the shop floor, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed, and the air temperature fluctuates with the seasonal weather.
