Job Summary
Opis Renewable Services Inc. is seeking six (6) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Field Service Technicians. We welcome candidates with a basic electrical background and field experience in renewable energy sectors such as energy storage, wind, or solar.
The selected candidates will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of battery energy storage systems, ensuring safe, stable, and efficient system performance. This role offers the opportunity to work on utility-scale energy storage projects and to grow within a rapidly expanding industry.
Experience with utility-scale BESS, inverters, cooling systems, or transformer systems will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the team leader, perform installation and commissioning of BESS systems and related subsystems (including inverters, transformers, cooling systems, fire protection systems, etc.) in accordance with manufacturer requirements and industry standards
Perform preventive maintenance, including DC module inspection, sensor testing, battery pack voltage measurement, software updates, and routine maintenance tasks
Conduct troubleshooting and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous system operation and minimize downtime
Monitor system performance, prepare and submit technical reports, and escalate issues when necessary
Complete all required work records and reports accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or above, with a foundational background in electrical systems
Relevant field service experience or experience in related industries (energy storage, solar, wind, or power equipment)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Proficiency in the use of basic electrical tools
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Willingness and ability to travel within the region and across states as required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg), climb ladders and stairs, and work in outdoor and industrial environments
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites independently
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with utility-scale BESS projects
Familiarity with inverters, transformers, or energy storage systems
Forklift certification or other relevant certifications
Basic computer skills for data recording and report preparation
Work Conditions
Travel within the state and across states may be required based on project needs
Work environments include industrial job sites and outdoor conditions
Overtime or extended working hours may be required depending on project demands
