Director of Nursing – Nursing Home (New Jersey)
Overview:
We are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and results-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and uphold the highest standards of care for our residents. This is a key leadership position ideal for a licensed professional with a strong background in long-term care, including nursing homes, assisted living, home health, hospice, and acute care.
As Director of Nursing, you will play a central role in shaping clinical practices, mentoring staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance while promoting a culture of excellence and resident-centered care.
Director of Nursing Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all daily nursing operations, ensuring safe, high-quality care for all residents.
- Develop and regularly update individualized care plans to meet each resident’s unique needs.
- Recruit, train, manage, and evaluate nursing staff performance; foster a positive and productive team environment.
- Ensure facility-wide compliance with HIPAA and all relevant healthcare regulations.
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper use of medical terminology.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to drive positive health outcomes and resident satisfaction.
- Oversee safe and accurate administration of medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Stay current on Medicare guidelines and ensure facility practices align with the latest regulations.
- Conduct regular resident health assessments and adjust care plans accordingly.
Director of Nursing Qualifications & Skills:
- RN license in the state of New Jersey (required).
- Proven leadership experience in long-term care, assisted living, home health, hospice, or acute care settings.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, anatomy, physiology, and patient care protocols.
- Excellent team leadership and staff development skills.
- Strong organizational and shift management abilities to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Skilled in EMR/EHR platforms and digital documentation.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and healthcare teams.

Pay: $114,815.14 - $138,272.00 per year
