1. Mission Statement
The HIVE Director is committed to establishing and maintaining a superior educational environment. This is achieved through strategic curriculum leadership, cultivation of professional relationships among staff and families, and meticulous operational management to ensure the continued success and growth of the HIVE Microschool and Co-op.
2. Position Responsibilities
The Employee shall perform the following duties in a professional and diligent manner:
- Enrollment and Recruitment for HIVE Microschool and Hive Co-op
- Oversee teachers for the programming including doing quarterly reviews and observations
- Oversee Curriculum Development and implementation by teachers
- Support student behavior
- Create relationships with each family and student
- Oversee budgeting and supply ordering for programs
- Schedule and support Field Trips and Extra opportunities for programs
- Recruit, schedule and oversee Extra Curricular opportunities for “in between times” for HIVE Microschool students
- Create a welcoming environment for all who enter, which includes creating students/families at drop off and pick up, reporting behavior and good news information daily, sending out weekly email from teachers with A2D Academy general information added, design parties and get togethers to enhance experience, run and execute family exhibition potlucks and family events
- Helping to track behavior and attendance
- Support Lunch and recess
- Meet weekly with teachers to support students, curriculum and program development
- Raise a minimum of $15,000 through grants, scholarships and donations to support A2D Academy
- Support A2D Academy’s general over all growth, development and daily functions
- Oversee and support the cleanliness of A2D Academy
- Recruit and support new staff members as positions arise
- Develop professional development for teachers on an as needed basis
- Celebrate staff and students for success, growth, milestones and birthdays
- Support students in their learning
- Post on social media about HIVE Programs to keep families informed about students learning/experiences as well as recruiting new students to the program and advertising A2D Academy HIVE PRogram to the larger community
- Maintain budget and spending expenditure for the board
- Fill in for teachers as needed and subs can not be found
- Oversee the portion of the website that pertains to the HIVE programming and make sure it is up to date, inviting and has current information
- Maintain student HIVE handbook
- Answer phone calls and emails daily
- Other areas of support that can be done as time allows;

- Support whole school events (Artisan Fair, Gift of Giving,
3. Schedule
The designated working hours for this position are as follows:
A. School Year Schedule
- Average Hours per week: 25 hours
- Location: ON Campus
- Monday 10:00am-12:00pm (virtual directors meeting)
- Tuesday: 8:30am-2:30pm
- Wednesday: 8:30am- 2:30pm
- Thursday: 8:30 am - 2:30pm
- Friday: 9:00 am - 1:00pm
B. Summer Schedule
- Average Hours per week: 25 hours
- Location: HYBRID
- Support A2D’s Summer School Programming as well as HIVE Programming- exact hours TBD
C. Supplemental Hours and Flex Time
- 4 hour shift at Artisan Fair and at Gift of Giving
- Participation in Open Houses, Exhibition Nights and Family Outreach Get togethers
- Volunteer hours for community outreach- this is at will and should not exceed 6 hours a year, anytime more than that will be compensated
- Flex Time: Should you take on extra hours one week to support students and staff, then you will be able to leave early the next week
- Stipend for Extra Shifts Picked Up: Upon approval of Executive Director
4. At-Will Employment
Employment with A2D Academy is at-will, meaning either the employee or A2D Academy may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
