The Jordan-Young Institute, is a prominent multi-sub-specialty private physician practice including orthopedics, sports medicine, neurosurgery/spine, physical medicine & rehabilitation, and Physical Therapy in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We are a high-volume practice with an excellent team of dedicated professionals whose purpose is to provide the very best medical care to the patients we serve. We are looking for an experienced, highly organized, Medical Telephone Scheduler
The Medical Telephone Scheduler will serve as a first point of contact for all callers. The Medical Telephone Scheduler will work directly under the supervision of the Scheduling Manager while working along with the rest of the team and reporting any discrepancies immediately to maintain JYI's superb customer service standards and care.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Greeting all callers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
- Delivery of exceptional customer service is must
- Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and medical history using EMR and PM systems such as Epic, Clearwave, and All Scripts
- Review and update patient documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations within applicable systems.
- Verify insurance coverage
- Schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments per physician protocols & responsible for maintaining provider schedule preferences.
- Ability to work in high call volume environment; Excellent public relations and ability to work in a team environment required.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Prefer 2 years of experience working in a physician specialty practice including referral processing, general knowledge of anatomy and Orthopedic terminology, and experience using electronic medical scheduling software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and the ability to work in a team environment required
- Knowledge of EPIC and Allscripts, a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required

Pay: $15.00 - $18.50 per hour
