Tuesday and Thursday

Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 AM - 2 PM [on site required: 2 1/2 hrs in classroom, 2 hours Zoom office hours, 1/2 hour professional duties/prep time]

Thursday 6 PM - 8 PM [off site allowed: 2 hours Zoom office hours]
Must be available entire length of assignment
Summary:
-
Provide classroom facilitation and student instruction in self-paced learning center Adult Education classroom and/or remote instruction at both Adult Basic Education and High School Completion/Equivalency levels in the following courses: Adult Basic Education Mathematics, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Consumer Math, and High School Equivalency Preparation Mathematics

Work with adults and at-risk students in a cooperative learning environment

Participate with other instructors in curriculum development within Michigan content standards guidelines and College and Career Readiness standards

Assess students as needed per Adult Education Asssessment Policy

Effectively manage classroom with regards to student participation, behavior, NRS assessment testing, and record-keeping responsibilities

Monitor attendance and assist in compiling student data for periodic grant accountability reports
Qualifications:
-
Valid Michigan teaching certificate, EX-Secondary endorsement

Successful teaching experience with adult and/or alternative student population
Additionally preferred:
-
Personal commitment to goals of Adult and Community Education and high school completion programs, including credit recovery

Demonstrate ability to integrate current technology into classroom experience

Demonstrate ability to design and/or modify curriculum to best meet instructional needs of Adult Education population within Michigan content standards

Working knowledge of accountability practices for grant reporting

Other duties as assigned
