Purpose & Scope: Entry level secondary machinist, supporting the machining department.
First Shift - 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - All eligible employees participate in the company's quarterly profit sharing program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. The job typically requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications, or equivalent.
2. Under close supervision, operates one or more than one type of manual machines too such as grinders, milling machines, drill presses, lathes, etc., on routine and repetitive operations.
3. Perform setups with assistance or minimal supervision.
4. Perform quality checks on machined parts by gauging and visual inspection as prescribed.
5. Refers all deficiencies to leads or team lead.
6. Collaboratively participate in Manufacturing Departmental Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvement.
7. Support the following departmental performance:
a. Safety performance and rule adherence
b. Quality performance
c. Manufacturing efficiencies
d. 5S/Organization/Housekeeping
e. On-time Delivery
f. Continuous improvement including cost reduction
g. Understanding of financials and departmental levers that drive them
h. Compliance with company work rules and policies
i. Accuracy of departmental reporting data
j. Timely completion of departmental preventative maintenance under departmental control
8. Work diligently toward improving the following capabilities in accordance with the Machinist Perfect Performer document:

Education & Training:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required
